Touzaint
Wins The 2008 Mitsubishi Badminton Horse Trials
for France
One down show jumping was just
enough for Nicolas Touzaint to become the first
French winner of Badminton Horse Trials. With
two fences in hand over Lucy Wiegersma - who had
had one down, the reigning European champion held
his nerve and when the last fence stayed up, he
threw up his arms, to a great roar from the Badminton
crowd. Lucy Wiegersma pulled out her best Badminton
performance yet to come 2nd and William Fox-Pitt
was third after a nightmare round by 3rd into
show jumping Polly Stockton.
